Helping rural communities gain access to funding to improve economic development, education and health is why FRS started our grant program. FRS grants have enabled telemedicine, distance education, business incubators, library improvements, and so much more, so we are excited to announce that our 2018 application is ready! The deadline to apply is September 15.
FRS supports organizations and projects that fit into the following grant categories:
- Business and Economic Development—Entrepreneurship and job creation programs.
- Community Development—Outreach programs that promote technology learning and innovation. Programs that encourage rural development through arts and tourism.
- Education—Technology in the classroom (computers, smart boards), curriculum development, extracurricular activities and distance learning programs.
- Telecommunications—Broadband applications such as telehealth technology, broadband adoption projects and basic technology infrastructure (like community hot spots).
